And what can I say?

Ueda's reaction to Junno's decision to quit is very relatable;

"Anger is definite. That said [...] I can't work up any hate towards him. There are a lot of complex feelings".


"[...] as a KAT-TUN member, I can't say something like, "I'll support you"... however, we are still friends. There will still be other feelings".

So if people want to be angry or sad or supportive or leave fandom or whatever, Hyphens shouldn't be calling other Hyphens stupid or unreasonable and eat each other - because it's only natural for people to have a bunch of complicated feelings.

But anyway, my JunDa heart.... I'm glad knowing this JunDa pairing wasn't just all in my head... and that they're not just friends, but are genuinely close friends!

Thanks for posting the interview. I didn't know how much I needed to read that.

A friend of mine and I were talking about which JE member we have most in common personality-wise, and I really am starting to think she was right when she said I was most similar to Ueda out of KAT-TUN. His reaction to Taguchi leaving, and all the reasons he should stay were basically my reactions and thoughts about the whole thing too (aka, immediate anger).

Also, as much as I've been avoiding Taguchi things lately, I've realized it's less because I hate him personally so much as I hate how angry, sad, and bitter I get over the whole thing. This fandom is doing the exact opposite it should be doing, but like the other masochistic Hyphens, I'm still staying because I want to support the remaining three. Like Ueda said...it's complicated. At least for now, Ueda seems resolved to keep KAT-TUN going. Let's hope it lasts through the hiatus.

It really does makes you feel better about things. I'm glad Ueda opened up so much about things: about the group's reaction and Junno's anxiety and how he feels about the past and the future to come.

It will take some time for everyone to settle with these events but in the meantime... yeah, I'm glad they decided to stick with KAT-TUN... when it comes to personality, I'm a cross between Junno x Ueda... I guess that's another reason why I always pair them together.

I'm really glad someone translated his interview and shared it. The he way he was so straightforward about both past and present, everyone's reaction to Junno's decision. And how their reactions were so similar to our own.... at certain points it brought tears to my eyes. But I think I needed to read this and feel Ueda's love towards KAT-TUN - maybe exactly because Ueda never said those words lightly-

It made me feel more confident in their future ^^

Exactly. He didn't sugarcoat anything. It must really be painful for him. He doesn't always say much and is always the silent thinker so when he says so much, it means a lot. I think with this fans got a bit closer to closure.

And yes! now I'm now a bit more confident about their/our future.

I still wish someone would properly translate Junno's 1000 Chara interview too.

I just read it ....umh i really love his choice of words.
I really hope he does feel this way and that we will see paparazzi shot of the 2 of them sometimes but i do wonder...

Still I am kinda happy to know that Junno was shaking before his annoucement cause well he shows that he cares and knows the conséquences....as before i wish he could properly told us why throught ....

Is there a Taguchi, Kame and Nakamaru interview like this one ? if yes i would really like to read it.

Got to say Ueda is really strong ...I hope the other 2 remaining members are as strong but i am really not sure about Kame ...

Yeah Junno also had a 1000 chara interview just before Ueda's but I haven't seen a complete translation... just bits and pieces tweeted, which is a shame because that's important to help us understand and come to terms with things.

But yeah, I feel bad Junno had to suffer and maybe he's still suffering or bothered by his decision but at the same time, I'm glad he's just as shaken up. It's as you said, it shows he really cared for KT and that it really bothered him and that he really thought about it... but misery likes company.

Ueda is really strong. Kame doesn't say much and you wonder sometimes what he's thinking... and when he does talk, it's all coded (and he's no Shige). Ueda is more straightforward, so I appreciate that.

Let us hang in there!

Thank you for sharing this! It was a really interesting read. It confirmed for me that their relationship with each other is very much as we see it on the shows. It felt very honest.

Ikr. Ueda is a honest guy. He doesn't say much usually, but when he does, he really pours his heart out... and one can't help but appreciate it. I hope he and Junno will continue being close friends.

I was actually looking forward to Uepi's long interview.
If there is someone who wouldn't ignore the elephant in the room, that's Ueda.
His words were...what we needed.
It's comforting to know that they do feel like we do, angry, lost, sad, hopeful. Well at least Ueda.
My eyes got teary while reading that he felt betrayed by Junno, that they talked about a lots of things but Junno never said anything to him. He felt betrayed as a friend, rather than a co-worker.
He can't explain why Junno's retiring, it's not his place, but it's like he's telling us that it's ok to be angry and it's ok to look ahead and go on and deal with the changing, however it works best for us.

The only regret is that this interview was done before they've decided (or publicly announced) the anniversary concerts and the hiatus, so the interviewer didn't touch that issue. Probably Kame's interview won't address that as well.
We'll probably get a long talk during the MCs [what else should they talk about during the MC? it's not like they have projects to promote or anything to be overly happy].

*hugs* to ueda for being the way he is.
And yes, we DID notice that he got better at expressing his love for KAT-TUN after Koki and we love him for that.

A! now that you mentioned that... this interview was before the 'recharge'. I hope they won't dodge the question for Kame's interview and even if they don't, he'll probably reply in some coded long winding philosophical thing... I like Ueda's plain straightforwardness. I'm trying to be not deceived again but I feel like I can trust Ueda just because he doesn't just say things for the sake of saying them... it's like he speaks when needs be and that makes it all the more important *hugs him tight*

Yeah, it's sad and weird that Junno only spoke to them after his mind was already made up. And he must have been battling with the idea for a long time that Kame caught on (though I wondered why he never said anything to Junno from then). It could also be that Junno found it very difficult to tell them... maybe that was the hardest part for him knowing what he knows and what they've all experienced together but it's still a shame that it all ended like that... if I were Ueda I would feel betrayed too since KT is supposed to be that family... a strange family but still a family and since they're supposedly this older brother/younger brother.

MC will be... interesting.

I'm glad to know that it's hard not for the 3 members but also for junno who's leaving. just like ueda said I feel sorry for kame coz he's the group spokesman.

well I'm sad.. really sad coz I remembered arashi ni shiyagare ep where kame is the guest and he was talking about 4p kat-tun and a year later this happened TTATT

Yeah. once again Ueda represents us fans. When things like this happen, we always cringe thinking about Kame having to explain and apologise once again why things are happening. At least this time Junno was and still is around to answer and take some of the beating.

It was good reading that Junno also felt broken about things. Good and sad at the same time.

Thanks for posting this. It's funny, but I didn't realize how much I needed to hear/read the things Ueda said.

We know KAT-TUN is going through a stressful time as a group, but I think it's comforting for Ueda to address all the complex emotions so completely.

I LOVE the 1000 word interviews. Especially Ueda's because he's not the most talkative or vocal person.

I've been taking my own break from fandom for a bit, because it's kind of painful to think about. I think it helped me be more determined to enjoy every last moment they have as 4...and then wait it out til they come back.

Yeah. After reading Ueda's thoughts and reaction, I've calmed a lot and even now hopeful that they'll return with some good stuff. Once the initial shock passes, it's a bit easier to decide to adjust. I'm still mad at them, but for now, I'll stick around ^^

Always flirting. I was surprised when Uepi opted to talk about Junno leaving as the reason why this MS was their last 4nin perf.

I really hope they do hang out a lot after all this is over.
