It's like you know it's Junno, but while watching him role play, he was Forrest Gump.
That's how great he was!
The Tokyo Globe: 2014.05.31 @6pm - A very short fan report.
Some spoilers are contained.
Well let's start by saying, Junno knows how to hula-woop around his neck and his waist~ and he got applauded for that ^^ he was really good. Maybe that's why he's grinding so much in his recent dances ><
So Forrest Gump~ the butai:
Live music; piano, drums, violin other pieces, singing and Forrest!Junno on his harmonica. The fact that they used live music instead of recordings for the entire stage-play really created a jazzy? and at times hippy? atmosphere. I was happy that Junno played the harmonica a number of times throughout the whole thing and then it occurred to me just how hard he must have practiced to have pulled it off. Most of the cast members played an instrument as well, so I was just all gleeful and grinning like a proud relative screaming in my mind, "that's my Junno" *grins some more*.
The play definitely kept to script with the original movie/novel so even if you can't understand what they're saying, the scenes are pretty spot on and very well done. Good stage effects and good transition from scene to scene, and again the lovely music.
Scenes included (from what I can remember): young!Forrest as a boy (yes he was in a school boy's uniform lol), his rugby years, the protests, the Vietnamese war, his shrimp fishing, his bed scene (spoken of in more details below *smirk smirk*), when he was pounced on by 'the prostitute' and was defended by his war Lieutenant, when he became an astronaut and went to space, when he met the US president and kept wanting to pee at the most important/inappropriate moments (lots of laughs from the audience here), when he found out he would be a daddy, when his mother died, and of course, his numerous running scenes... running while delivering his monologues! The boy has got stamina (must be those 600 sit-ups) ^^
And OMG! that bed scene that had everyone crazy lol, well it really wasn't anything 'sexual', but like it was so 'comical'. They had themselves covered under the sheet moving around like two kids playing, and at times Junno would show his face and say something which would lead to his 'lover' asking him, 'what he's talking about at a time like this?' and I kept laughing to myself thinking, 'that's so Junno... always out of timing and on about his own topic ^^ it's really like how he mentioned something like, he's like Forrest himself. Well yeah, some gestures and craziness were identifiable.
Oh yeah, seeing Junno this close really made me realise how tall this guy is... Junno is a big sturdy and sexy guy. Flawlessly handsome as we see him on TV. Oh right, he looked really sexy in the rugby uniform. Honestly, I kept watching his ass and everytime he would bend over for something, I found myself watching his ass *naughty girl* lol
Then at the closing greeting he was all smiles and still full of energy. You can't imagine how happy and proud I was seeing him at centre-stage, the focus of attention getting his applause for a job well done. The audience kept laughing, maybe not so much at what he was saying but more like his body language... it was like ta daaaa~ Junno is back ^^
Which reminded me of just how serious Ueda was at the end of his play and I had to LOL. KAT-TUN's personalities really are different... almost so far apart, yet it gives me this warmth because regardless of what happens, it's still one of their many charm points and just knowing that I'm a part of their fandom makes me all giddy with happiness XD
So the entire thing lasted for a bit over 2 hours nonstop so Junno was right to warn in his 'Hanashi' to use the bathroom before getting seated.
Not much more to go into details about but I had planned to keep an eye on the audience's reaction but I'm was so caught up watching the butai that my attention didn't shift much to the audience but when it did, they seemed really into the butai too... they laughed at jokes and they seemed responsive to the 'sad' scenes. A great thing about the theatre is that it's fairly small (don't ask me how many people it holds), but small enough for everyone to see everything, which made it intimate and cozy.
OH yeah, there were some men in the audience. Some were even in the goods line~ the butai goods were: a pamplet and a message stickers package. cute stickers, and I chuckled to myself wondering if these men also bought Junno's stickers hehe
And so do forgive my typos but I wanted to write this now because #1 I only have time now (though I'm dead tired from a full weekend) and #2~ I know my crazy mind will forget most things in a few days when RL kicks in ~ well most things except Junno's acting. It was natural and I thought to myself, that of course it would be! After all, he did play Ranmaru on Legal High ^^
Great job, Junno!
